How many pages will one cartridge print?
Check the yield printed on the box. Cartridge yields are rated to ISO/IEC 19752 at roughly 5% page coverage, which is a light text page. Invoices with logos, tables and shaded headers use far more toner, so real pages drop. If yield drives your budget, measure coverage on a typical document.
Can we store spare cartridges through the summer?
Yes, if you store them properly. Keep each cartridge in its sealed foil bag, lying flat, in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun and windows. Toner is a fine powder that clumps with heat and settles when a cartridge stands on end for months. Rock a stored cartridge gently before fitting it.
Print has gone faint. Is the cartridge finished?
Not necessarily. Remove the cartridge, hold it level and rock it gently end to end a few times to redistribute the toner, then refit it. That usually clears fading and one-sided streaks for a few hundred more pages. If the fade returns quickly, or you see repeating marks down the page, replace it.
