- Microinverters are published at twenty-five years and batteries at fifteen years or a stated discharged-cycle count, whichever comes first, with a published residual capacity at year ten. Gateways, controllers and combiners carry shorter separate terms. Cover is issued by market: Enphase publishes no warranty for systems activated in territories it does not list, and the UAE is not currently listed, so written confirmation is a prerequisite rather than a formality.
Enphase invented the commercial microinverter and has built its whole architecture around it: each module gets its own inverter, so the roof carries alternating current at module voltage instead of a high-voltage direct-current string. Its current generation is the IQ9 family, with the previous IQ8 family still sold, alongside AC-coupled batteries, combiners and a monitoring platform. The architecture removes DC arc risk, which in a hot, dusty, thermally cycled climate is a genuinely different safety proposition.
Why it gets specified
- There is no high-voltage direct-current string anywhere on the array, which removes the single failure mode that causes most photovoltaic roof fires — a DC arc at a degraded connector or a chafed cable.
- Each module operates at its own maximum power point, so a single soiled, shaded or degraded module costs only its own output rather than dragging a whole string down with it.
- Microinverters are published with a twenty-five-year warranty, which is the longest standard electronics term of any inverter brand in this list.
- Per-module telemetry makes soiling measurable rather than estimated — on a Gulf roof it is the cleanest way to decide whether the cleaning interval is right, because the data separates a dirty array from a failing one.
- Enphase does not currently list the UAE as a supported market and publishes no warranty for systems activated here, so it is a technically attractive architecture with a commercial gap that has to be closed with the manufacturer before it is specified.

On a UAE project
The engineering case for microinverters in the Emirates is strong and worth making plainly: a rooftop here runs through a forty-degree daily temperature swing, accumulates abrasive dust between cleans, and ages connectors faster than a temperate climate does — and every one of those conditions makes a high-voltage DC string more dangerous, while a module-level AC architecture simply does not have that string. Per-module data also answers the question every UAE facilities manager eventually asks, which is whether the drop in output is dirt or damage. The commercial position must be stated with equal clarity: Enphase does not list the UAE among its supported markets, its warranty document does not extend to systems activated here, and its terms allow it to decline activation of product imported without consent. That is not a reason to dismiss the brand — it is a reason to obtain written market and warranty confirmation from Enphase before it goes into a UAE specification, which is exactly how CoHub treats it.
