- The Hi-MO 9 datasheet is published at 12 years for materials and workmanship with a 30-year linear power warranty, under 1% first-year and about 0.35% annual degradation thereafter. Some Hi-MO X10 variants carry a longer 15-year product term. The term is variant-specific, so it is taken from the datasheet for the exact model quoted.
LONGi built the modern monocrystalline wafer industry and is the one major supplier whose flagship is not TOPCon — it runs back-contact cells (HPBC 2.0) on its own TaiRay n-type wafer, with no gridlines on the front of the cell. It also makes storage systems and green-hydrogen electrolysers. Where roof area or plot area is the binding constraint, it is usually the highest-output module a buyer can specify from a mainstream supplier.
Why it gets specified
- Back-contact architecture moves the metal fingers to the rear of the cell, so a larger share of the front surface converts light — the practical result is more kWp on a fixed roof footprint.
- LONGi publishes a dedicated dust-resistant variant of its distributed flagship, presented at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi — a product line aimed squarely at Gulf soiling rather than repurposed from a European catalogue.
- Wafer and cell are made in-house at a scale that has led global monocrystalline wafer shipments for a decade, which is why LONGi can price a large order without buying cells on the spot market.
- Two separate flagship families — one tuned for utility ground-mount, one for distributed roofs — so the same cell technology can be specified across a mixed portfolio without a compromise module in the middle.
- A Dubai regional headquarters covering the Middle East and Central Asia has been operating since 2023, giving technical support and claims a local address rather than a time-zone away.

On a UAE project
On a UAE rooftop the usable area is rarely the whole roof — chillers, AHUs, cable trays, access walkways and the shadows they cast take a meaningful bite out of it — so watts per square metre decides the system size a building can actually carry, and a back-contact module buys that back without adding rows. Because the front of the cell carries no busbars, partial soiling and the streaky residue left by hard-water washing shade proportionally less active area than on a conventional front-contact cell. LONGi's Dubai regional headquarters has covered the Middle East since 2023, which matters at the unglamorous end of a project: a warranty claim, a flash-test report, or a replacement module for a row damaged during a shamal. The company has publicly contracted back-contact modules in gigawatt volume for an Abu Dhabi utility project and supplied bifacial modules to Qatar's first large solar plant — the brand's own record, not ours.
