A paid extension to a longer total is available if bought within a short window after the warranty starts. Fronius is a family-owned Austrian manufacturer founded in 1945 in welding and battery charging, which started its solar electronics division in 1992. Its distinguishing engineering choice is active cooling with a double-walled housing rather than passive convection, and it publishes explicit claims about holding output in high ambient temperatures. The range covers residential and commercial hybrids, a high-power commercial platform, storage and monitoring.
Why it gets specified
- Active cooling with a double-walled housing keeps the power electronics off the outer skin, which is why Fronius states that installation in direct sunlight is permissible — a genuinely unusual allowance on a UAE roof.

On a UAE project
Fronius is the specification for a UAE roof that has nowhere cool to put an inverter. Most electrical rooms in Emirati commercial buildings are already full and none of them are air-conditioned for someone else's equipment, so an inverter that is rated for outdoor mounting, that is actively cooled, and whose manufacturer explicitly permits direct sunlight removes a construction problem rather than creating one. On a fragmented industrial roof the ten-MPPT commercial platform is the practical answer to duct runs, parapet shading and three different roof orientations on one building — fewer inverters, fewer AC combiner positions, less cable. The warranty split matters commercially: below 50 kW the free term is ten years, at and above 50 kW it is five, so the ten-year comparison against a Chinese alternative changes depending on which side of that line the design falls. Fronius has a Middle East channel but no published UAE entity, so service turnaround should be agreed before the order rather than after a failure.
