- Warranty terms differ by product family and are largely contractual rather than published. The legacy solar range was sold at three years base extending to five on registration, with the UAE named as a secondary support territory and labour and removal costs excluded. Switchgear, breakers, transformers and EV charging terms are project-specific and should be obtained in writing with the quotation.
Schneider Electric traces to 1836 and is today one of the largest electrical equipment manufacturers in the world. Its role in a solar project is deliberately not the inverter — it discontinued its Conext solar inverter line and now supports that installed base only — but everything around it: medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, protection relays, DC-rated breakers and surge protection, metering, supervisory software, commercial battery storage and EV charging. In the UAE it has the deepest local footprint of any brand in this list.
Why it gets specified
- Medium-voltage switchgear, transformers and protection from one vendor, which is what an emirate utility's connection application is actually assessed on once the inverter has been accepted.

On a UAE project
On a UAE commercial or utility project the solar equipment is rarely what delays energisation — the medium-voltage connection, the protection settings and the utility witness test are, and that is where Schneider is strongest. Be clear about what it does and does not sell today: the Conext solar inverter range has been discontinued and is supported only for the installed base, so anyone still offering a Conext inverter on a new UAE design is selling from old stock. The environmental data is the reason to specify it here — the main breaker line publishes salt-mist, damp-heat, corrosive-atmosphere and dust-and-sand qualification, and the dry-type transformer states a normal service ambient of 40 °C, which in the Emirates makes room cooling or an explicitly uprated unit a design decision rather than an afterthought.
