The TP-Link 24-Port Gigabit Rackmount Switch is a 1U switch with 24 RJ45 ports running at 10/100/1000 Mbps, sold as a single unit with a minimum order of one. How many desks will 24 ports actually cover?
Plan for about 18 to 20 live desks. From 24 ports you lose one to the uplink or router, one or two to wireless access points, and one each to the printer, the NVR and any spare patch. If you are close to the ceiling now, take the next size up rather than daisy-chaining a second switch later.
Does it power my access points over Ethernet?
Only if the stocked unit is a PoE model, and TP-Link sells both. PoE switches carry a total watt budget shared across ports, so eight access points and four IP phones need that budget checked before you commit. Tell the sales desk what you are powering and we will confirm the exact model code and its budget.
Can I mount it without a rack?
Yes. The chassis sits flat on a shelf or inside a wall-mounted comms box as long as the vents stay clear and nothing stacks on top. Rackmount models normally include the 19-inch brackets in the box, so confirm bracket contents with the sales desk if you are mounting on day one. Keep it out of direct sun in a site cabin.
What paperwork comes with the switch?
A proforma invoice first, so you can raise a purchase order or get internal sign-off. Once the order is paid and packed we issue a UAE Tax Invoice showing the 5% VAT separately from the goods value, with your company name and TRN on it. Payment is cash on delivery. Warranty terms follow the brand, so ask the sales desk to confirm before you order.
Can I buy one unit, or is there a minimum?
